Assistant Manager

We are seeking a motivated, passionate Assistant Manager / Education Leader to join a vibrant Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service in Sorrento.

This role is suited to someone enthusiastic about nurturing school-aged children and who thrives in a leadership position combining education and operational support.

About the Role :

As Assistant Manager / Education Leader, you will work closely with the OSHC Manager to support the day-to-day operations of the service while leading and inspiring the team to deliver high-quality educational programs aligned with the My Time, Our Place Framework.

This role is ideal for someone with strong OSHC experience who is passionate about creating inclusive, engaging, and fun environments for children outside of school hours.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Support the Manager in daily operations, including supervision, programming, staffing, and administration duties.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of engaging programs based on children's interests and needs.
  • Mentor and coach educators to ensure quality educational practices and foster professional growth.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with children and families, supporting each child’s wellbeing, development, and sense of belonging.
  • Maintain compliance with National Quality Framework (NQF), My Time, Our Place (MTOP), and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Create safe, vibrant, and inclusive spaces where children feel welcomed, supported, and inspired.
  • Conduct observations, documentation, and reporting to capture children's learning and development.
  • Step into the Acting Manager role when required during periods of leave or absence.

Your Qualifications :

We are looking for a confident leader who has extensive experience in Outside School Hours Care and is passionate about inspiring both children and staff.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Certificate III or Certificate IV in School Aged Care, Early Childhood Education, or a related field (or higher qualification).
  • Have extensive knowledge and practical experience in the OSHC sector.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of My Time, Our Place, NQF, NQS, and compliance requirements.
  • Exhibit exceptional leadership, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with children, families, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Be proactive, flexible, and solution-focused, with a strong work ethic and a team-first attitude.
  • Hold current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certifications.
  • Have a valid Working With Children Check.
  • Be available to work split shifts daily during school terms, with additional hours available during school holiday programs.
  • Display a genuine passion for children's learning and a commitment to continuous professional development.
