Childcare CV Template

If you are searching for childcare opportunities online, then having a strong CV will be critical in obtaining a position at your desired childcare centre. A well developed resume will determine whether you will be invited for an interview and should therefore highlight your skills and experience, be well presented, and convey confidence to the reader in your ability to do the role.

If this is your first time, the below childcare CV template will give you a guideline as to what to include and how to format your resume. Customise the below to fit your own personal experience and the childcare job you are applying for. If you don’t have any experience, think about the time you babysat for the neighbors, or helped out with the family business. It may be seem insignificant to you, but any experience is better than no experience. Further most employers who are taking on inexperienced employees, will be looking for the right behaviours and work ethic. So as long as you can demonstrate this, you’re one step in the game. In most states, you are required to have, or be working towards a Certificate 3 in Childcare, so be sure to add this qualification to your CV.

For experienced childcare workers, it is important to stress your level of experience, but more importantly, how great you are at doing your job. Try to remember times where you have really gone above and beyond in the role, or an activity which you have lead that was super successful. Highlight why they should hire you over other childcare workers. Even if you are the only person going for the job, if they like you, you will be in a better position to negotiate a higher pay rate.
