Early Childhood Teacher

About this role :

Journey Early Learning is seeking an Early Childhood Teacher to join the team at its Banyo centre. You will be an active team member responsible for providing a safe and stimulating environment that meets the needs of children while supporting curriculum decision-making in line with organisational standards and practices.

Tasks and responsibilities :

• Bring Journey values of connection, communication, and consideration into everyday practice
• Adhere to child safe policies and code of conduct
• Plan and structure indoor and outdoor learning environments using a variety of materials
• Provide experiences that support motor skills, social development, confidence, and understanding
• Promote language development through storytelling, role play, songs, rhymes, and discussions
• Observe children’s progress and identify developmental, emotional, or health concerns
• Monitor nutritional, welfare, and safety needs of children
• Communicate openly with parents to support children’s development
• Attend parent interviews, centre meetings, and events
• Participate in community and family support programs
• Supervise student teachers on placement.

Qualification and experience :

• Formal qualifications preferred with at least 2 years of relevant experience
• If no formal qualification, additional experience may be required.
