Responsibilities :
- Food preparation for morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late afternoon snack
- Safe food handling for allergic/anaphylactic children
- Meal plating and service and delivery to classrooms
- Kitchen cleaning and dishwashing
- Cleaning of office, staffroom, foyer and other areas if needed
- Cutting of varied meats
- Food safety and hygiene procedures
- Positively promote and support the centre to families and community
- Support Montessori philosophy with families and potential clients
- Maintain respectful communication with colleagues
- Attend meetings as requested
- Follow Montessori Academy policies and procedures.
Key Competencies :
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Cert III in Commercial Cookery or Cert IV in Hospitality
- Cert III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA equivalent)
- Current Working With Children Check
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Available for shifts between 8:30am–3:00pm Monday to Friday
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Understanding of National Quality Framework (NQF) and National Quality Standard (NQS)
- Commitment to holistic development of children.
