Early Childhood Teacher

We are seeking a passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join Journey Early Learning at our Fernvale centre. In this role, you will be an active leader within the team, responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment that supports each child’s development. You will contribute to curriculum decision-making in alignment with EYLF and the centre’s educational standards, while receiving ongoing support, training, and development opportunities.

Responsibilities :

• Plan and structure learning experiences in indoor and outdoor environments using a variety of materials and resources
• Promote children’s development through play-based learning, including motor skills, social skills, and confidence-building activities
• Encourage language development through storytelling, role play, songs, rhymes, and group discussions
• Observe, assess, and document children’s learning progress and wellbeing
• Identify and report signs of developmental concerns, health issues, or additional needs
• Maintain children’s safety, health, and wellbeing in accordance with child-safe policies and code of conduct
• Engage in open communication with families to support children’s development
• Participate in parent meetings, centre events, and community engagement activities
• Support and supervise student teachers and contribute to team development.

Qualifications and Skills :

• Formal Early Childhood Teaching qualification (preferred) with at least 2 years relevant experience
• Strong understanding of EYLF and early childhood development principles
• Ability to deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate learning programs
• Strong communication skills with families, children, and team members
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Understanding of child safety policies and National Quality Framework (NQF)
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certifications (or willingness to obtain)
• Valid Working with Children Check
