About the Role :

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Childcare Cook to plan and prepare nutritionally balanced meals and snacks for children across multiple centres. This role involves menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring dietary and allergy requirements are met while maintaining high food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities :

• Plan and prepare nutritionally balanced meals and snacks for children
• Ensure meals meet dietary, allergy, and cultural requirements
• Purchase food in line with menu and budget requirements
• Ensure meals are presented in an appetising and appealing way
• Maintain kitchen hygiene, health, and safety standards in line with regulations
• Store and manage food in temperature-controlled environments
• Maintain accurate kitchen records and temperature logs
• Communicate with families regarding nutritional requirements
• Prepare special dietary meals as required
• Lead and mentor other kitchen staff
• Adhere to child safe policies and code of conduct
• Ensure compliance with childcare regulations and safety procedures.

Qualifications and Skills :

• AQF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (with at least 2 years experience)
• Experience preparing healthy meals for children
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certificates
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to manage kitchen operations independently
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
