Working in childcare

There are many different types of childcare worker jobs in early childhood education to choose from. Including Early Childhood Educator jobs, Early Childhood Teacher jobs, and Centre Director jobs to mention a few. In Australia, childcare workers are known as educators and you must possess or be working towards a Certificate of Children Services or higher.

Early childhood education

The childcare industry is stable and steadily growing. Over 1.3 million kids around Australia are enrolled in childcare. With more and more parents earning a dual-income, the need for additional childcare centres is evident. And to help fill this gap in the market, childcare jobs are expected to rise.

As the childcare sector continues to expand, there is a general consensus among industry bodies that there is an emerging need to create long-term strategies to attract and employ more qualified childcare workers. This includes more attractive wages and salaries, better flexibility and enhanced support.
