Westcare Early Learning Centre, is a privately owned early childhood education and care service located at Camden Park, S.A 5038. They provide high-quality care and education for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. The centre follows a child-led, play-based and Montessori-inspired approach aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children’s development across all learning areas. They are committed to maintaining high standards under the National Quality Framework and fostering strong relationships with families and the community.

About the role :
They are seeking an experienced and motivated Child Care Worker (Group Leader) to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a room, supervising children, and delivering high-quality educational programs while mentoring educators.

The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following :

• Provide education and care for babies, toddlers, and children
• Lead the preparation and organisation of materials and equipment to support children’s learning and development
• Facilitate experiences that promote children’s play and learning
• Build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with children
• Ensure children’s health, safety, and wellbeing at all times
• Support and supervise children’s daily routines
• Prepare and rotate learning materials in line with Montessori-inspired practices
• Promote the inclusion and participation of all children
• Encourage and guide the development of cooperative behaviour
• Guide educators in delivering quality care and supervision for children.

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role :

• Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
• First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certifications
• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care; or similar; or higher OR at least three (3) years of relevant work experience to substitute the qualification
• Minimum one (1) year’s experience as a Childcare Group Leader or in a similar role
• Strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards and compliance
• Understanding of Montessori-inspired practices (desirable)
• Ability to lead and support a team of educators
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Passion for providing high-quality early childhood education and care.
