Gergi Childcare Pty Ltd, trading as Genesis Early Learning is looking for a full-time Lead Educator to join our team.

Benefits :

The remuneration is AU$72,000–82,000 per annum plus superannuation.

Task and responsibilities :

• Assisting in the implementation of developmentally appropriate learning experiences in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children’s physical, social, emotional, cognitive and language development
• Preparing and organising play-based learning materials, equipment and indoor and outdoor environments to support planned educational activities
• Facilitating play experiences that encourage exploration, creativity, problem-solving and cooperative interaction among children
• Supporting group activities such as storytelling, music, art, sensory play and early literacy and numeracy experiences to assist children in achieving developmental milestones
• Observing children’s behaviour, wellbeing and developmental progress, and recording and reporting observations to supervisors to assist with program planning
• Guiding children’s behaviour using positive, respectful and developmentally appropriate strategies to support social skills and emotional regulation
• Providing emotional support and encouragement to help children build confidence, independence and positive peer relationships
• Supervising children during daily routines including meal times, rest periods, transitions and outdoor activities to ensure safety and wellbeing
• Assisting children with personal care routines including toileting, dressing, handwashing and safe eating practices in accordance with health and hygiene standards
• Serving meals and refreshments, and ensuring safe food handling practices are followed
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised environment by identifying hazards, ensuring equipment is used safely, and following centre health and safety procedures
• Adhering to service policies, National Quality Framework (NQF) standards and child protection procedures in daily practice
• Communicating with families regarding children’s daily activities, routines and general wellbeing under the guidance of supervisors
• Supporting inclusive practices by assisting children from diverse cultural backgrounds and those with additional needs to participate in activities
• Assisting with maintaining attendance records and contributing to documentation as required
• Participating in team meetings and undertaking relevant professional development to support continuous improvement of care practices.

Qualification and experience

Qualifications :

• Minimum AQF Diploma in Children’s Education and Care or equivalent

Experience :

• Minimum 2 years experience working with children in an early childhood education setting.

Other requirements :

• Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
• Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Clear Working with Children Check.

Standard skills :

• Strong knowledge of child development, the ability to implement learning programs aligned with the EYLF, maintain children’s health, safety and wellbeing, communicate effectively with children, families and colleagues, work collaboratively within a team, and comply with the National Quality Framework, service policies, and professional standards.
