Position: Early Childhood Teacher

Overview

As an Early Childhood Teacher at Nature Kids Childcare Centre, your primary responsibility is to deliver high-quality early childhood education that supports the development and well-being of children in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. You will work closely with a team of educators to foster a love for learning, promote creativity, and ensure each child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.

Tasks and Responsibilities :

  • Plan, design, and structure developmentally appropriate indoor and outdoor learning environments using a wide range of materials, resources, and equipment to support children’s holistic development
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate learning activities and experiences that promote motor skills, social cooperation, confidence, creativity, and cognitive understanding
  • Foster language and communication development through storytelling, role play, songs, rhymes, group discussions, and individual interactions
  • Observe, monitor, and assess children’s learning, behaviour, and development to evaluate progress and identify individual learning needs
  • Identify and respond to early signs of ill health, emotional disturbance, behavioural concerns, or developmental delays, and take appropriate action in line with centre policies
  • Monitor and support children’s nutritional intake, health, welfare, and safety needs, identifying and addressing factors that may impede learning or development
  • Maintain accurate records, observations, and developmental reports, and adjust learning plans and teaching strategies accordingly
  • Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with parents and families, communicating children’s progress, achievements, and areas for development
  • Participate in and contribute to parent interviews, staff meetings, and committee meetings to discuss children’s learning outcomes and centre practices
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that respects diversity and supports children’s social and emotional wellbeing
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan curriculum, share teaching strategies, and improve educational outcomes
  • Participate in community and family support programs to strengthen partnerships between the service, families, and the wider community
  • Support, supervise, and mentor student teachers or trainees on placement, providing guidance, feedback, and professional support
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with early childhood education frameworks, regulations, and best practices
  • Provide emotional support and implement strategies that foster social and emotional growth in children.

Qualifications and Experience :

  • Minimum Bachelor degree
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the related field
  • Ability to lead and work in a team under pressure
  • Strong communication, time management, and multitasking skills
  • Proficient in managing children's behaviours and needs calmly
  • Experience in planning engaging learning activities
  • Skilled in building positive relationships with parents.
