Early Childhood Educator

The Child Care Worker will be responsible for providing consistent, high-quality care and education to children in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Framework (NQF). The role focuses on supporting children’s learning, well-being, and development while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.
The position requires a professional educator who can work collaboratively with colleagues, follow established policies and procedures, and maintain compliance with relevant regulations. The Child Care Worker plays an essential role in supporting children’s daily routines, learning experiences, and social development while building positive relationships with families and the wider community.

Task and responsibilities :
- Assist in the preparation and set-up of materials, resources, and equipment for children’s educational and recreational activities
- Prepare, support, and conduct age-appropriate learning and play activities in line with the Early Years Learning Framework
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor recreational activities to ensure safety and engagement
- Manage children’s behaviour using positive guidance techniques and support the development of appropriate social skills
- Support children’s emotional well-being and encourage positive interactions with peers and educators
- Entertain and engage children through reading, storytelling, music, games, and creative play
- Supervise and support children’s daily routines, including arrival and departure, meals, rest periods, and transitions
- Maintain and supervise children’s hygiene practices, including handwashing, toileting, and personal care routines
- Ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic environment in accordance with health and safety requirements
- Observe and report on children’s behaviour, learning, and developmental progress as required
- Work collaboratively with other educators to support program delivery and centre operations
- Follow organisational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times.
Qualification and experience :
- Minimum Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience in an early childhood education setting
- Knowledge of child development and early learning principles
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
